How did you come to work at North?
John and I met while working at The T&C, a music venue and club in Leeds where we both started as glass collectors. One day John said he was going to open a bar and asked if I wanted to join him. That was over 25 years ago, before Google.
What was your first memorable beer experience?
Aged 12 accidentally inhaling a half of shandy up my nose, with my mam and dad in the local pub. I’ve not drunk a shandy since.
What have you been listening to lately?
The incessant, inescapable din of my three children. The dawn chorus and newborn spring lambs. The clicking of my freehub. Fleetwood Mac, John Martyn, Thom Yorke, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Low, Four Tet.
What is your favourite spot for a drink?
A cold can on a riverbank in the Dales is hard to beat on a sunny day. Any bar or pub with friends, good service and decent drinks is a winner. Any recommendations?
