On the evening of Sunday 29th January 2017, during a live awards ceremony in California (while North Brewing Company was sleeping…) we were named “Best New Brewer” for West Yorkshire in the annual Ratebeer Best honours list!
Ratebeer.com hosts a database of reviews on hundreds of thousands of beers from around the world, with fewer than 1% of all brewers and beer retailers awarded RateBeer Best honors, so we were thrilled to wake up to the news on Monday morning.
What’s even more amazing is that the Ratebeer accolade came just two days after we won our first official prize for a beer, having picked up Gold for our Tropical Pale Ale in the York CAMRA Beer and Cider Festival awards on Friday.
Recognition like this really means a lot to us and we’re extremely grateful to Ratebeer and York CAMRA for these two awards. They say these things happen in threes… so who knows?! Here’s hoping there might be another exciting bit of news coming our way soon!
Director Christian and Head Brewer Seb attended the event in York and were thrilled to claim first place in such a competitive category. Here’s Christian collecting the award on stage, and Seb proudly showing it off to everyone on the train back to Leeds…
