Hello everone! We hope you’ve had a nice weekend so far and your Sunday is set up to be a good one!
Today we’re introducing our new web-shop manager, Rob! He makes sure everything is set up and ready to go ready for new beer launches. He makes sure the logistics and operations of the web-shop run smoothly so that you can get your orders quickly and in good condition as well as LOADS of other technical bits! He’s also been know to model limited edition t-shirts every now and then…
How did you come to work for North?
I found my feet in barwork with the fab guys over at Nation of Shopkeepers. I left just before the final couple of months of my MA, and handed in my dissertation in September 2019. I applied to North Bar in October, and was offered a job! With lockdown I was furloughed, and eventually brought into Webshop.
What is your first memorable beer experience?
I didn’t drink until well into my second year at uni in York. I remember Thornbridge Brewery Jaipur (happy birthday Jaipur!) as my gateway to paying attention to what I was drinking. Up until that point it had generally been a pint of whatever was cheapest! York has some properly amazing historic pubs, but Pivni World Beer Freehouse and House of the Trembling Madness are definitely the stand out beer drinking holes from those early days!
What have you been listening to at work?
Usually whatever Dennis is listening loudly to in the brewery. This is usually about 6 Gallows songs that just get repeated all day.
Where is your favourite spot for a drink?
Wax Bar Leeds, North Bar and the The Angel Inn are where I feel most at home. Chill vibes, great service, so many amazing times in them. Shout-out as well to The Brunswick and The Social There are just so many amazing bars, and bar workers, in Leeds that deserve support in such a dire time for the industry.
