NORTH DOES MOVEMBER : SAM

It may now be December but we have just a little more to talk about. Throughout the month some of our staff have been growing their mustaches in support of Movember UK. So far we have raised £1285. We are whole-heartedly amazed by the support you have shown the team in their mission, thank you to everyone who has chipped in. If you haven’t and would like to, there is still time! You can follow this link to learn more and donate. Today we’re talking to Sam.

Why have you jumped into Movember this year?

With the year we’ve just had it seemed the perfect opportunity to have a laugh with the guys, raise some awareness and raise some money for an amazing cause.

What’s your self-care activity of choice?

I’ll be honest I’m not very good at looking after myself and have a tendency to just let things bottle up. However, one thing I’ve missed is live music, the release and sense of euphoria after a show can’t be beaten.

Why is mental health important to you?

Everybody suffers from poor mental health at some point in their life and yet so few of us feel we can talk openly about it which only makes things worse!

Do you have any books, films, websites or resources that you’d like to shout out?

Check out The Joe Marler Show podcast, really funny and a down to earth guy talking openly about his own battles with his mental health.

A final word from Sam:

TALK MORE! I know it’s not that easy (I don’t do it either) but we all know we should and it’s something I’m working on too. You can talk to me if you like!
