Last night took a slightly surreal turn as our flagship Transmission IPA was crowned ‘Overall Champion of the SIBA Independent Keg Beer Awards’. This was following the IPA being awarded gold within the ‘Keg Premium Strong Beers’ category and the brewery winning the award for ‘Business Innovation’.

The awards took place as part of SIBA BEER X, an industry trade show, where Transmission was the first keg of the festival to sell out!

Our head brewer Seb brought us a homebrew version of Transmission back in 2015, and it was so good that Christian cried! Since being unleashed on our brewing kit Seb has continued to evolve and tweak the recipe looking to continuously improve the beer. Transmission is juicy, hoppy and balanced. With this beer we believe that we have really nailed that combination of drinkability and a modern, full flavour.

As John put it at the ceremony last night: “This award means so much to the whole team, who have been hustling hard and constantly growing the business and making great beer.”

We celebrated our wins with two tap takeovers in Liverpool to coincide with the event: On Wednesday we teamed up with Signature Brew for a North vs South showdown at The Dead Crafty Beer Company. On Thursday we took on local heroes Mad Hatter at Craft Minded in the former Cairns Brewery in the Baltic Triangle. Both venues were ace hosts and it was great to share a beer with so many of our industry peers.

Congratulations to Tring Brewery who took home the gold for Champion Small Pack with Death or Glory and to Wold Brewery who won Champion Cask with Sirius Dog Star!
