At the start of June we had the pleasure of welcoming Temescal to our brewery to brew, not just one, but two collabs with them!
Ryan and Marisa were on a European tour – stopping off at Track in Manchester, Garage in Barcelona, and sunny Leeds! They took over the taps at North Bar for a proper Recovery Sunday session, and then headed over to the brewery for a double brew day on the Monday.
The first – and already out in the world – is the IPA. During the brew day we headed over to Meanwood to forage wild elderflowers to add to the beer. We may have also stopped in at The Beck and Call for a Transmission or two… The elderflower gives a light floral and earthy flavour that combines with Cascade and Mandarina Bavaria hops. This IPA is super juicy, with aromas of pineapple and stone fruit, with a full body and a refreshingly bitter finish.
For the second collab of the day we decided to keep it clean and fresh with a lager. We heavily hopped with Saaz in the whirlpool and used an all German Pils malt grist. We then added a light dry hop addition of Mandarina Bavaria and Tettnang before submitting it to a full lagering process and a high carbonation. This lager is smooth, frothy and fragrant with aromatics and finishes with refreshing bitterness that keeps you coming back for more.
The Temescal Lager will be available on tap and from the fridge in our tap rooms from 4pm on Friday 19th July. Cans are priced for takeaway, with a £2 ‘drink in’ corkage.
