We kicked off the week on Tuesday (ouch!) celebrating Little Leeds Beerhouse’s 4th Birthday with friends from Finback, Deya, Vocation, and Northern Monk. Rich and Bryony have played a pivotal part in shaping the beer scene in Leeds, and we feel very lucky to have them in the city. Next time you’re in Leeds make sure you go say hi!
We had the pleasure of hosting Anthony from Other Half at the brewery for a collab brew. We went big on the hops, and big on the abv.
North X Other Half DIPA will be released on Friday 10th May at 4pm at the brewery tap.
On Wednesday we hosted Berlin’s Fuerst Wiacek for a return collab. Last August they were excellent hosts when we visited them in Berlin, and it was ace to catch up and hear how well things are going for them over in Germany. We decided to brew a Kölsch style beer in a nod to Germany. This one will have added lemon zest, and we’re trialling a vegan filtration method on it as well.
North X Fuerst Wiacek Kölsch with Lemon will be released on Friday 17th May at 4pm at the brewery tap.
After the brewday we headed to our Leeds City Tap on Sovereign Square where Barcelona’s Garage Beer Co took over the taps with a sour showcase and Justina + Barney introduced Sovereign Street to the Porron (it might have been spotted with whisky in later that night in North Bar…)
On Thursday we brewed with Zagovor from Moscow. We brewed a Micro IPA with citrus zest which will clock in at 2.8% Aka it’s officially going to be the summer-iest beer in Leeds. We’ll be catching up with Zagovor later this summer when we head to St Petersburg for Lobotomy Day!
North X Zagovor Micro IPA will be released at the brewery tap on Friday 3rd May at 4pm.
At Hop City we caught up with lots of old friends, and drank lots of excellent beers. The weekend descended into a cycle of Hop City / Turk’s Head / North Bar and it felt great to see the whole city so buzzing about craft beer.
Thanks to Northern Monk and Rich Brownhill. Time to start plotting for Dark City!
