HELLO HANNAH!

Hello again! How’s your Sunday coming on? Cranking up the autumnal vibes? Roast on, cup of tea? – maybe a nice stout on the go?
Every Sunday we’re introducing you to a member of the North family, shining the spotlight on the people that make it all possible! This week we’re introducing you to Hannah! Hannah assists in the day to day running of the brewery, delivering local web shop orders and is a member of the companies mental health board! In her spare time she makes some very nice jewellry, check them out at on instagram at @clayandpalm !

How did you come to work for north?

I moved to Leeds a couple of years ago after managing the brilliant Arcade Beers in Huddersfield. North had already been on my radar for a long time through ordering and just loving the beer. I arranged a tap take over and met Fay, Seb and a few others. When I moved to Leeds I had my heart set on working here! I did a stint at the legendary North Bar before moving to North’s taproom in the city centre and the Brewery Tap where I had the pleasure of running Eat North food festival with Leeds Indie Food last summer. Unfortunately that couldn’t run this year for obvious reasons so now I get to work with the loveliest team at the Brewery!

Where is your first memorable beer experience?

If you don’t mean drinking cheap stubby beers in a park as a youngster I’d probably say going into live music events and drinking vast amounts of affordable red stripe at The Parish where I then went on to work on and off for 6 years!I was introduced to the delights of Magic Rock Brewing when they were still brewing beside the rock shop and thats how I discovered my passion for quality beers.

What have you been listening to at work?

Honestly I have smashed through so many audiobooks and podcasts since I’ve worked at the Brewery. I’m currently listening to ‘High and Low Podscast’ and ‘Brown Girls do it too’. I’d love some recommendations or to recommend some to anyone who may be interested! Music wise the new Yussef Dayes & Tom Misch album is pretty great.

Where is your favourite spot for a drink?

In Leeds I frequent Kirkstall Bridge a fair amount as it’s an easy cycle route from home, I also love The Turk’s Head Leeds!
