This weekend Sarah and Fay headed over to sunny Wroclaw in Poland for Browar Stu Mostow’s Beer Geek Madness festival. It was the first time that our beers had poured in Poland, and the reception was truly humbling!

The festival is held at a former brewery, Zaklęty Rewirów, and hosted a mixture of breweries from the UK and Ireland alongside over 25 Polish breweries.

On the Friday night we descended on Wroclaw city centre where we visited tap takeovers with Cloudwater, Siren, and Northern Monk beers all flowing. We took over the taps at Doctor’s Bar pouring Pinata, Full Fathom 5, Sputnik and Herzog.

We drank some excellent beers alongside friends from Finback, Barrier, Wylam, Track, WhiplashWander Beyond and Honest Brew.

On Saturday we were taken on a tour of the city before meeting up with Spanish friends Edge, Laugar, Naparbier La Pirata and La Quince at Browar Stu Mostow’s taproom for lunch.

We headed to the festival on Saturday evening where we took part in a beer judging panel, before tasting weird and wonderful beers from across Poland.

It was our first visit to Wroclaw, and we found a thriving craft beer scene. Direct flights from Leeds and such a warm welcome from everyone we met means that we’ll definitely be back!

Thank you to Greg and Arletta for being such generous hosts, and everyone who came out and drank with us this weekend.
