19th July – Covid update
Monday 19th July brings another change to the Covid regulations, but for the most part things will be staying the same here at North.
Table service has always been a massive part of what we do at North. When we opened North Bar in 1997 we were inspired by Belgian Beer Cafes and the drinking culture that we found on holidays in Europe. Our friendly, informative table service has been a nod to these influences ever since. We did table service before Covid, and will continue to do table service as long as the doors are open.
We will be keeping our doors and windows open to help keep our bars ventilated.
There will be a couple of extra tables in some venues, but we won’t be letting guests sit at the bar. This is so that our staff can keep distanced when preparing drinks.
Our staff will still be wearing masks when serving customers and moving around the venues. We would encourage our customers to continue to wear masks when moving around, but this won’t be mandatory.
Our track and trace system is currently logged into by signing in to our WiFi. We will be keeping this in place and the QR codes will still be on all tables.
We will be continuing to emphasise the importance of being aware of your surroundings and asking our teams to work in a socially distant manner.
Whilst we love nothing more than socialising in busy, bustling bars, the case rates in Leeds are very high. The majority of our bartenders are aged between 21 – 30 so are still waiting for their second jabs. We believe that the steps outlined above are a way to look after the safety of our teams and our guests.
