We looking for a Warehouse Manager to join our expanding brewery, and manage the warehouse and distribution operations in conjunction with the requirements of the Sales Team. We're looking for someone with previous leadership experience within a distribution/warehouse setting.


40 hours per week, Monday-Friday


Starting from £27, 950 dependent on experience

Job Description

This is a Leadership role within the Brewery. The primary function of said role is to manage the Warehouse/Distribution Operation in conjunction with the requirements of the Sales Team. This includes leading in the safe and efficient completion of all processes and the ongoing management of staff.

The Warehouse Manager has over all control of all stock coming in and out of the building, from raw materials to finished stock.

The Warehouse Manager reports directly into the Brewery Operations Manager.

Health & Safety:
Ø  Responsible for the safe and successful completion of the Distribution team’s duties in line with relevant SOPs and Risk Assessments. Develop new systems and procedures where needed.
Ø  As part of wider Brewery Management team, identify and report appropriately any Health & Safety concerns across the whole brewery team.
Ø  Responsible for maintaining and checking for completion of appropriate periodic training for all staff within the Distribution team.

Ø  Personal completion of additional qualifications and training as agreed with Brewery Operations Manager. Deliver training to staff and ensure training records are maintained.


Staff Management Responsibilities:
Ø  Tracking of hours & TOIL on a daily basis.
Ø  Ensure appropriate Shift Coverage for all Operational needs. Write rotas and ensure an efficient staffing plan is in place.
Ø  Approval of holiday within Distribution team.
Ø  Accurate and timely recording of sickness/absence.
Ø  Induction training for new starters.
Ø  Maintenance of Staff Training Records.
Ø  Health & Safety responsibility within Warehouse & Distribution Area. Lead by example and enforce Site Safety Rules. Challenge any behaviours that do not conform to SOPs/Risk Assessments immediately.
Ø  Carry out 6-monthly appraisal with warehouse staff
Ø  Management of Key Performance Indicators and of staff in line with this.
Ø  Appropriate investigation of H&S and Performance Issues with staff.
Ø  Documentation of Incidents and Near Misses around the workplace.
Ø  Be a problem solver, bring new ideas and solutions and implement with the team


Relationships & Communication:
Ø  Work proactively and collaboratively with other team Supervisors including Packaging and Brewing in order to ensure optimal operational efficiency across the brewery.
Ø  Be aware of the challenges facing other teams on a weekly basis in order to support. Share resources with other teams by identifying challenges in the coming months. Ensure appropriate training is arranged accordingly.
Ø  Working collaboratively with Sales and Webshop team to ensure the end customer receives the best possible experience
Ø  Challenge respectfully around the brewery in order to find the best ways of working as a unit. Work closely with production team and flag any issues as they arise, particularly around goods in and logging of finished goods on brewman.
Ø  Customer Facing Team – lead by example and ensure that all staff are presentable and behave professionally at all time. As such, ensuring that our conduct falls in line with the North brand is a critical requirement. Eg. Uniform & PPE worn
Ø  Maintain an understanding of wider business strategy and challenges. Ensure that this is communicated clearly and consistently to the team in a positive and constructive manner.



Warehouse Duties:
Ø  Responsible for all stock in the warehouse from Raw materials to finished goods

Ø  Develop and maintain systems to track all stock along with Operations manager.

Ø  Ensure arrangements are in place for the daily opening/closing of the Warehouse Unit.

Ø  Responsible for reporting and taking ownership in the resolution of facilities Issues.
Ø  Monitor stock levels and purchase orders on brewery software (Brewman) to ensure sales team are working to an accurate figure and raw materials and stock are recorded in and out of the warehouse. Ensure inventory matches stock levels at all times
Ø  Responsible for accurate and timely assembly of orders for distribution.
Ø  Ensure damaged stock is flagged and rectified appropriately.
Ø  Responsible for the ongoing Cleanliness & Tidiness of Warehouse area.
Ø  Maintain all facilities and equipment documentation in an organsied and easily accessible manner.
Ø  Receipt of all goods into Brewery. Management of associated paperwork and onward distribution/putaway of received goods.
Ø  Maintenance of Warehouse Machinery. Ensure completion of daily checksheets for all equipment and prompt reporting of defects in order to get resolved ASAP.


Ø  Ensure adequate induction and periodic training/performance review of drivers.
Ø  Management of routing and efficient delivery.
Ø  Management of staff rota in line with delivery requirements.
Ø  Managing of daily vehicle checks and maintenance of records.
Ø  Acting on any defect reports so as to minimise downtime on vehicle.
Ø  Ensure management of all delivery paperwork in line with ‘Delivery’ SOP.
Ø  Investigate any customer complaints or shortage reports associated with the delivery function.
Ø  Proactively work with sales team in order to improve delivery schedule and ensure maximum efficiency on an ongoing basis.
Ø  Consider long term ideas on how we improve our delivery efficiency and improve customer experience.
