Further North

Wheelchair access

Further North has wheelchair access via a ramp at the front door. The staff will set up the ramp for you, and hold open any doors. We have an accessible toilet downstairs. Unfortunately our event space is not accessible for wheelchair users.

The front door is 90cm wide and the door into the bar is 84cm wide.

Anti-discrimination

All North venues are diverse, inclusive,  accepting safe spaces. We welcome all races, genders, ages and sexual orientations. Our toilets at Further North are gender neutral.

Seating

The majority of our chairs in Further North have a back, and are at a low level. Further North is a cosy bar, so the tables are close together. Some tables have backless stools.

Table service / menus

We always offer table service downstairs and upstairs. Our taplist is available on a chalkboard by the bar. Food and additional drinks are printed on menus on your tables. We do not have digital menus at Further North. Our friendly team will be happy to assist if you need any help reading the printed menus, or want advice on the products available. We are happy to provide tasters of any of the drinks on tap.

Lighting / sound

During the daytime Further North is a light, bright and sunny space. We have bi-folding doors which we open during the warmer months. At night we dim the lights and put out candles.

The music at Further North is always played at a volume which allows you to hold a conversation comfortably. If you would like to be sat away from the speakers please let us know.

Further North is busiest in the evenings, and often gets a second wave of customers just before closing time. Early afternoons are quieter in Further North, and perfect for a peaceful pint with a book! Our upstairs room is usually quieter than the main room.

Yes! You can hire our upstairs event space for free!

The room comfortably holds up to 30 people and has seen events ranging from book clubs, to engagement parties, to charity quizzes, to birthday parties.

We have a range of bar snacks available including crisps, nuts and pickles.

Well behaved children are very welcome at Further North. We have baby changing facilities, colouring sheets and a range of soft drinks available. We’re a cosy, neighbourhood bar so there may not always be room for prams on a weekend!
